2nd Engineer for Bulk Carrier Vessel

Job Description

Southfield Agencies, Inc. is urgently recruiting a qualified Second Engineer for bulk carrier operations. Candidates must have at least two contracts of experience in the same rank and on the same type of vessel.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Assist the Chief Engineer in supervising engine-room operations.
• Monitor and maintain propulsion machinery and auxiliary equipment.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and coordinate machinery repairs.
• Supervise engine-room personnel and ensure compliance with onboard safety procedures.
• Maintain technical records and report machinery defects.

Requirements

• Valid Second Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (CoC).
• At least two contracts of experience as Second Engineer on the same type of vessel.
• Valid STCW certificates and medical fitness certificate.
• Valid and available seafarer’s documents.
• Proficiency in English communication.
