Chief Engineer for DP3 Semi-Submersible Accommodation Vessel

Job Description:

South Point is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join an upcoming offshore project aboard a DP3 Semi-Submersible Accommodation Vessel.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the vessel's engineering department, overseeing machinery operations, and ensuring the reliability and safe operation of all engineering systems. Applicants must be Malaysian nationals and hold valid maritime certificates and qualifications appropriate to the position.

The estimated joining date is November 2026, subject to final confirmation.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Manage the engineering department and oversee main engines, auxiliary machinery, and technical systems.
• Supervise engineering personnel and coordinate maintenance, inspections, and repair activities.
• Ensure machinery reliability through preventive maintenance and timely troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate technical records and ensure compliance with onboard engineering procedures.
• Implement engineering safety procedures and support safe vessel operations.

Requirements:

• Malaysian nationality – mandatory.
• Relevant experience as a Chief Engineer.
• Previous offshore or accommodation-vessel experience is an advantage.
• Valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) appropriate for the position.
• Valid STCW certificates and applicable endorsements.
• Valid medical fitness certificate and Seaman’s Book, where applicable.
• Relevant engineering qualifications and additional certificates required for the role.
• Good English communication skills and a strong safety-conscious attitude.
• Availability for the estimated November 2026 joining date, subject to confirmation.
