Job Description:
Gulf Marine Services (GMS) is currently seeking an experienced Oiler / Motorman to join its offshore operations onboard a Self-Propelled Jack-Up Barge (SPJUB) operating in the UK region. The successful candidate will support the engineering department by assisting with the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the vessel's machinery and mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with company procedures and offshore safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
Assist the engineering team with the operation and maintenance of engines, pumps, and auxiliary machinery.
Carry out routine inspections, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Monitor machinery spaces and report any defects or abnormalities to the engineering officers.
Maintain engine room cleanliness and comply with planned maintenance procedures.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company HSE policies and offshore safety regulations.
Requirements:
Valid STCW certificates.
Medical fitness certificate (ILO Medical Fitness).
Proficiency in English communication.
Valid UK work permit is mandatory.
Valid BOSIET certificate.
Valid GWO certificates.
Minimum 2 years of offshore vessel experience as an Oiler or Motorman.
Valid competency certificates relevant to the position.
