Job Description

Navis is recruiting an experienced AB / Crane Operator to join a DP2 Diving Support Vessel operating in the North Sea.

The vessel is a Norwegian-flagged DSV built in 2007, with a gross tonnage of 8,009 GRT and a 150-tonne Active Heave Compensation (AHC) crane.

The successful candidate must have relevant offshore vessel experience in the rank of Able Seaman (AB) and/or Crane Operator, hold a First Class Seaman License, and possess an accepted Stage 3 crane operator qualification.

A minimum of 18 months of actual onboard experience on MPSV, OCV, or DSV vessels in the rank of AB / Crane Operator is mandatory.

Due to the vessel's flag-specific requirements, applications will be considered only from candidates holding a valid EU passport or Ukrainian nationals with a valid EU residence permit.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

• Carry out deck operations and maintenance in accordance with vessel procedures.
• Operate the offshore crane safely and efficiently, within the scope of the candidate's authorization and assigned duties.
• Support lifting operations involving offshore equipment, materials, and project cargo.
• Follow approved lifting plans, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and applicable safety procedures.
• Assist with rigging, slinging, and the preparation of lifting equipment as required.
• Conduct pre-use checks and report crane or deck-equipment defects.
• Maintain safe working practices during offshore construction and subsea support operations.
• Cooperate with the bridge team, crane team, deck crew, and offshore project personnel.
• Participate in onboard safety drills and comply with HSE requirements.

Requirements

• First Class Seaman License – mandatory.
• Valid Crane Operator Certificate – mandatory. Accepted qualifications include:
  • Sparrows Stage 3
  • EnerMech Stage 3
  • G5
  • AIS Survivex
• HUET with CA-EBS – mandatory.
• Minimum 18 months of actual onboard experience on MPSV, OCV, or DSV vessels in the rank of AB / Crane Operator.
• Relevant experience with offshore lifting operations.
• Valid COC and applicable Endorsement, where required.
• All relevant and valid STCW certificates.
• Valid Seaman's Book.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid EU passport, or Ukrainian nationality with a valid EU residence permit.
• Good English communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of offshore safety procedures and lifting operations.
• Availability to join on 4 November 2026.
