Location: Uruguay (Polar Research Voyage)
WRS – Worldwide Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Able Seaman (AB) to join a large research vessel operating in Uruguay. The vessel will be engaged in polar research activities, requiring a seafarer with strong watchkeeping skills, deck experience, and high safety awareness.
The role includes participating in deck operations, assisting scientific crew as required, and supporting vessel activities in cold-weather conditions.

As per company policy, duties may include but are not limited to:
• Performing deck operations, mooring, lookout/watchkeeping duties
• Assisting with research-related tasks as directed by the vessel’s officers
• Maintaining deck equipment and participating in safety drills
• Following all onboard safety, environmental, and operational procedures
• Supporting navigation and polar operations under challenging weather conditions

• Valid AB COC
• UK Seaman’s Book (mandatory)
• Valid STCW certificates
• Valid medical certificate
• Valid passport
• Experience working on research or offshore vessels is an advantage
• Good English communication skills
