Job Description

OSM Thome Offshore is inviting applications for the positions of Second Officer and Third Engineer for an upcoming Accommodation W2W DP2 vessel project in Brunei.

Candidates applying as Second Officers will support navigation, bridge watchkeeping, and safety-related duties. Candidates applying as Third Engineers will assist with engine-room operations, machinery maintenance, and technical tasks under the supervision of senior engineering officers.

Key Responsibilities

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:

Second Officer

• Assist with navigation, passage planning, and bridge watchkeeping.
• Maintain navigational equipment and relevant records.
• Support safety drills and emergency preparedness.
• Assist with deck operations and compliance with onboard procedures.

Third Engineer

• Assist with engine-room operations and machinery maintenance.
• Monitor assigned machinery and auxiliary systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain engineering records and follow safety procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 18–24 months of experience in the applied rank on the same type of vessel.
• Appropriate Certificate of Competency and required endorsements for the relevant position.
• Valid STCW certificates.
• Valid medical fitness certificate.
• Valid passport and seafarer’s documentation.
• Relevant offshore vessel experience.
• Good English communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant DP qualifications for the Second Officer role, where required.
