Job Description
We are currently recruiting an experienced 2nd Engineer for the Container Vessel CMA CGM Canarias.
The vessel operates on worldwide trading routes, with joining scheduled for 20 July 2026. This is a 3 ± 1 month contract offering a competitive monthly salary. The successful candidate will support the Chief Engineer in the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of the vessel's machinery and engineering systems in compliance with company procedures and international maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities
As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the operation and maintenance of the engine room.
- Supervise engine room watchkeeping and engineering personnel.
- Carry out planned maintenance and repairs of machinery and auxiliary equipment.
- Ensure compliance with company SMS, MARPOL, SOLAS, and HSE requirements.
- Maintain accurate engine room records and machinery performance reports.
Requirements
- Valid Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) Certificate of Competency
- Valid STCW certificates
- Valid medical fitness certificate
- Proficiency in English communication
- Minimum 12 months of actual onboard experience in the rank of 2nd Engineer
- Valid Passport
- Valid Seaman's Book
- Candidates must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
