Job Description

Viking Crew is recruiting an experienced 3rd Engineer to join a 100m+ private Motor Yacht operating worldwide.

Large yacht engineering experience is advantageous, although candidates with a strong commercial or cruise engineering background will also be considered.

The successful candidate will support the senior engineering team with the safe and efficient operation, maintenance and monitoring of the vessel's machinery and technical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the engineering department with daily machinery operations.
• Monitor and maintain main and auxiliary machinery and technical systems.
• Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and routine repairs.
• Assist with troubleshooting and identification of machinery defects.
• Maintain engine-room cleanliness and safe working conditions.
• Support emergency drills and technical response procedures.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and maintenance documentation.
• Follow all yacht safety, environmental and company procedures.
• Work effectively as part of a professional international yacht crew.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a 3rd Engineer.
• OOW(E) minimum qualification – mandatory.
• Valid STCW certification.
• Valid ENG1 medical certificate.
• Large Yacht engineering experience is an advantage.
• Commercial vessel or cruise ship engineering experience will be considered.
• Good command of English.
• Strong technical, safety and teamwork skills.
• Male candidate required due to cabin arrangements.
• No visible tattoos.
• Availability to join in early November 2026.
